The Crew-9 mission is the 9th flight under NASA's Commercial Crew Program.

This flight is the first crewed launch from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
NASA astronauts Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov will go to the ISS for a science mission (Expedition 72), lasting approximately five months.

This will also be the first crewed mission to conclude with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.

Originally planned for a crew of 4, but reduced due to issues with the earlier Boeing Starliner capsule mission, requiring 2 astronauts to return from ISS via SpaceX Dragon.
